The digital page, printer setting, and paper loaded in the tray must agree.
A print at the intended physical size without unexpected cropping or shrinking.
Steps

Choose the paper actually loaded in the printer.

Set orientation and margins in the preview.

Choose the same size in the printer dialog.

Print one page and measure the result.
Adapt by age
Ages 3–5
Prefer a larger page and widely spaced targets.
Ages 6–8
Use A4 or Letter when writing space matters.
Ages 9–12
Use smaller paper only while text remains comfortably readable.
Common pitfalls
- Treating A4 and US Letter as the same size.
- Applying Fit to page in both Inkling and the printer dialog.
Print tip
Start at 100% or Actual size; use printer fitting only to solve a known edge problem.
