Materials & preparation
- One printed learner copy; keep the answer view separate when provided
- Pre-cut pieces, or child-safe scissors with adult supervision
- A clear surface for arranging the pieces
- Model and teach
- Place two examples side by side and model the feature that makes them match or differ. Then use this learner direction: Cut out the cards and sort each item under the correct heading. Compare an equal partition with an unequal one and name the evidence.
