Order steps, events, or routines. Use key space vocabulary to explain objects, movement, and mission steps.
Materials & preparation
- One printed learner copy; keep the answer view separate when provided
- Pre-cut pieces, or child-safe scissors with adult supervision
- A clear surface for arranging the pieces
- Model and teach
- Think aloud through one example, including how you notice and correct a mistake. Then use this learner direction: Cut out the cards, then place the events in order. Choose two space terms and model how their meanings or roles are connected.
- Support
- Make the success criteria visible, allow an independent attempt, and give one targeted cue instead of the answer.
- Stretch
- Ask the learner to justify a method and consider an alternative. Require a claim to be supported by a word, detail, example, or result from the page.
- Check for understanding
- Ask the learner to retell the order and explain why one chosen step comes before another.
