Learning objective
Order steps, events, or routines. Recognise and order familiar daily actions, using time words accurately.
Materials & preparation
- One printed learner copy; keep the answer view separate when provided
- Pre-cut pieces, or child-safe scissors with adult supervision
- A clear surface for arranging the pieces
- Model and teach
- Think aloud through one example, including how you notice and correct a mistake. Then use this learner direction: Cut out the cards, then place the events in order. Ask what happens before, during, and after one familiar routine.
- Support
- Work side by side, offer two choices at a time, and accept pointing or an oral answer before writing.
- Stretch
- If attention is steady, ask for one more example and a simple reason. Compare two valid examples and explain one meaningful similarity or difference.
- Check for understanding
- Ask the learner to retell the order and explain why one chosen step comes before another.
